Matcha Latte Makeup Is All Over Our FYP: Here’s How to Get the Look

IPSY Editors

You’ve probably heard of latte makeup by now, but allow us to introduce you to yet another beauty trend inspired by a delish hot beverage: matcha latte makeup. Matcha lattes are one of our favorite drinks (caffeine AND nutritional benefits!? Pour it up!), so we are all for emulating it on our faces. While latte makeup is all about monochromatic bronzy-brown glam, the matcha latte makeup trend focuses on pops of green on the eyes and complimentary shades on the lips and cheeks.
The term “latte makeup” first popped up on Tiktok and matcha latte makeup was born as a colorful spin-off creation. This look is all about pastel to mid-tone shades of green (picture the creamy color of your morning drink) around your eyes. Since the green is such a statement by itself, the rest of the look is usually more subdued. Think glowy, bronzed skin, fluffy, natural brows, and a glossy lip. Remember: the eyes are the star of the show here.
It's about glam time you treated yourself.

How to Get the Matcha Latte Makeup Look
Step 1. Prep, Prep, Prep!
Skincare prep is always non-negotiable! Create a hydrated, dewy canvas by cleansing your face and applying a serum, moisturizer, and primer (we want all this work to last!).
Step 2- Choose Your Coverage
Whether you feel most comfortable with a full-coverage base, a hydrating skin tint, or even just a few dabs of concealer, blend your choice well with a beauty sponge or stippling brush to create a seamless finish.
Step 3. Go Green
Time for the fun part! There are a few ways you can create this eyeshadow look, but the easiest, beginner-friendly option is to sweep one green shade over your entire lid for a monochromatic look.
If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, pat a creamy green shade onto the center of your lid and blend it into your crease. Then, use a smaller brush to add a different shade of green to your lower lash line.
If you strongly believe that an eyeshadow look isn’t finished without some glitter (*raises hand*), choose your favorite shimmery topper shade and pat it onto the center of your lid and the inner corner of your eye for a sparkly glow. Use a green shade to create a smoky wing or your favorite liquid eyeliner to draw a cat eye. Finish off your eyes by combing mascara through your lashes for some volume and definition.
Step 4- Finish
Grab your favorite cream bronzer, (we love Milk Makeup Matte Cream Bronzer), and apply it wherever the sun naturally hits (like your forehead, cheeks, chin, and nose) to add some dimension. Then, choose a neutral pink blush and pop it on the apples of your cheeks for a natural flush that won’t compete with your green eyeshadow. Sweep a glowy highlighter over your cheekbones, brow bones, and Cupid’s bow for an eye-catching radiance. Finally, brush your brows up and over, softly fill them in with a brow powder or pencil, (like MO BEAUTY Divinely Defined Precision Brow Pencil & Brush) and lightly lock them in place with a brow gel.
Step 5- Get Glossed
For the final touch, line your lips with a neutral lip liner and add a swipe of your go-to lip gloss in a nude or dusty pink shade. Then, spritz a hydrating setting spray like KAB COSMETICS Hydrating Setting Mist over your look to really lock it in, and voilà!
Matcha Latte Makeup Looks We Love
1. Smoky Green
This muted olive green look is the perfect way to try the trend. The combination of browns and greens is *chef’s kiss*, plus that green mascara trick? Genius.
2. Sparkly Green
This sparkly green eyeshadow look on Zendaya is a perfect example of how just one shade of green on the lids and lash line can make your eyes pop.
3. Frothy Green
This light green eyeshadow shade might be the closest to matcha we’ve ever seen. Plus, we can’t get over the addition of white eyeliner to this look!
4. Forest Green
This bronzy look mixes matcha green eyeshadow with emerald green liner and we love the effect! Plus, the pop of berry lips just screams fall and winter.
5. Multidimensional Green
Leave it to Selena to absolutely slay this sparkly green eyeshadow look. We love how she paired it with a slicked-back hairstyle so the makeup could really shine.
